Dr. Joshua Nelson is an author, activist, and speaker in the Atlanta Georgia area. He holds a doctoral degree in Urban ministry with an emphasis in police and community relations. He is the Pastor of New Jerusalem praise and worship center in Douglasville ga. He was also recently elected as the Adventist Community Service Director, Adventist-laymens Services and Industries Director, and the Inner-city Ministries Coordinator for the South Atlantic Conference.
He has authored a number of books and articles. A few years ago he launched an online academy for community organizing. The course can be found at Activatechange.academy.
Joshua was featured in the North American Division of SDA’s film “the Book of Joshua” which is focused on church revitalization. He is also the former host of 3ABN’s pure choices program from the dare2dream network. He currently serves as an adjunct professor for the Doctoral Ministry program at Andrews University for the urban ministry program.
His wife, Kimberly Nelson is an Associate professor at Liberty University in the Department of Counselor Education and family studies. She also teaches at NYU and Capella University as an adjunct. She and Joshua homeschool their 5 and 7 year old children, Jude and Kaleah Nelson. Together they have a passion for people and spreading the everlasting Gospel to expand the Kingdom of God.
